Want To Craft But Not Sure Where To Start?

A lot of people love the idea of crafting but just feel totally overwhelmed at the thought. After all, where should you start with so many possibilities and so much crafting equipment available. Well the truth is, only you can really answer this question but think about the sorts of things you enjoy doing. Crafting should never be a chore so if the thoughts of picking up a pair of knitting needles fill you with dread, then move on and try something else. Maybe painting would be more your thing? or card making? or maybe something completely different such as working with clay. Make a list of all the things that you think would be fun to try and pick one. Just one. A lot of people, including myself get a little bit carried away when crafting and want to try every new craft going but realistically this really doesn't work and can be very costly buying supplies that you may actually never use. Once you decide on your craft head to your local Pound shop for supplies. You will be amazed at what you can pick up for next to nothing or check out charity shops or car boot sales for balls of unused wool and materials. You don't want to be spending much money on your first project and you will undoubtedly make some mistakes at first.

So you have a craft in mind, you have your materials, now what? You may get an idea straight away and that's great when that happens. But sometimes your mind goes blank and you might have a 'what was I thinking'? moment. Don't panic. It's totally normal when it comes to crafting. I often have a days where I think I don't know what I am going to do and then it comes to me in a dream or I see something that catches my eye that gives me an idea. Looking online is great for ideas. Google your craft and check out YouTube and Pintrest there are literally millions of ideas out there and your sure to get some inspiration.

So I hope you are feeling a bit more confident in starting your new craft. Just remember you will make mistakes, but that my friends is how we learn and get better at what we do. Take your time with your project, and most importantly of all, enjoy what you are doing!

Good luck with your projects! I would love to see what you have made so please come back and post a pic and help inspire others with their crafting. I know I will look forward to seeing them.

Happy Crafting everyone!
